Cross Cultural Consultants Brian Erickson has been working with Mission Australia Training Institute to develop an innovative training package titled 'Working By Culture'. This customises Certificate 1 in Work Preparation for Aboriginal and / or Torres Strait Islander participants by integrating it with Walking in Two Worlds - Cross Cultural Consultants' unique cross cultural training course. The course will be delivered during October and November 2008 in a number of NT communities. Brian Erickson and Jason Elsegood have managed this exciting project and we look forward to its implementation.
AusAID recently engaged Cross Cultural Consultants to hacve input into the development of an integrated Induction Syllabus for advisors under the PNG Strongim Gavman Program (SGP). During Sept - December 2008 John Jablonka, CCC's training manager is working with AusAID staff and AusAID consultant John Mellors to provide input on the Cross Cultural Capacity Building components and assist with adult learning principles and training design.
Thanks heaps to Annie Sloman, our recent intern who shared her enthusiasm, ideas and creative input and assisted with facilitation and training design and delivery during august 2008. Annie also left us with a much improved resources database to guide our course design and development. Terima Kasi and Selamat Jalan to Annie on her return to Jogjakarta.
Groote Eylandt continues to be home away from home for Phil Elsegood, Cross Cultural Consultants' Director. His close networks and long term experience there sees him working closely with longtime trainers Grant and Nancy and delivering training and capacity building inputs for the mine, the resort, the land council and others. Cross Cultural Consultants trainers continue to deliver weekly Cross Cultural Training in Cairns, each Thursday, for staff going to work on the mine expansion.
