Working Across Cultures
This 1-3 day workshop provides information for people working with people from another culture in an Australian context either with Culturally and Linguistically Diverse communities in Australia or with counterparts from overseas placed in Australia.
The program provides basic, introductory ideas and tools to build the capacity of people to work together. It focuses specifically on skills tools and strategies for cross cultural effectiveness in the context of sustainable community development, however it applies equally well to private sector strengthening, change management, Global businesses and international student exchange.
The workshop objective is to develop a framework for understanding cross cultural interactions and to introduce some frameworks for capacity building. We recognise and value your wide range of experiences, skills, knowledge and contributions. Activities are designed to encourage participation and are underpinned by adult learning principles.
Learning outcomes:
Participants will have
1. An understanding of some challenges of and strategies for living and working effectively across cultures.
2. Clarified their role in contributing to sustainable development through building capacity and working with counterparts including practical strategies.
