CCC recruits, supports and develops a flexible and diverse team of development practitioners who combine core facilitation skills with technical, sector and culturally specific expertise working in:

  • over 30 countries;
  • all development sectors (Health, Education, Governance, Infrastructure, Environment, Gender, and Rural Development); and
  • at al levels of Government, Non Government Organisations and the private sector.

CCC models multicultural teamwork and critically reflects on our own practise. We consider gender, culture, skills and experience to assign the best team to the task. A commitment to these common core values underpins our work:

The team:

Phil Elsegood– Company Director

Phil has managed and delivered capacity building training, grounded in cross cultural theory and validated regularly in lived experience and practical community development for over 20 years in Australia, Indonesia and Timor Leste. He brings a deep personal and professional understanding born of his own rich experiences in diverse Aboriginal cultures and networks.

Jason Elsegood – CEO

Jason has sound knowledge and practical experience applying community engagement and development principles in remote and indigenous Australia in Governance, Infrastructure, Education, Rural Development and SME projects. He is an experienced cross cultural mentor, project manager, team leader and tutor with an Honours and speciaql interest in Indigenous Economic and Community development.

John Jablonka – Training Manager

John has designed, managed and delivered training in Australia, South East Asia and the Middle East on programs for volunteers, students, communities, governments and staff across all sectors. As a consultant facilitator with Governments and NGO’s in organisational development, he uses participatory planning, evaluation and learning methods to maximise outcomes for diverse teams.

Deborah Hall– Associate

Deborah worked in Papua New Guinea as a teacher for 4 years and has worked in capacity building roles as an advocate, trainer, consultant, project manager and writer in a range of sectors including governance, health, education and environment. She has a special interest in multiple literacies in education programs.

Stephen Williams - Associate

Stephen has extensive cross cultural experience living and working in international development and humanitarian emergency relief settings including Fiji, Solomon Islands, Papua New Guinea, Vietnam, Laos, Indonesia, Iraq, Burma, Africa, and remote indigenous Australia. He has proven experience in the management of multiple contract compliance, human resource, administration and financial activities in simultaneous multitasked projects. Stephen's strong interest is in training and facilitation as tools for participatory capacity development.

Vân Nguyen – Associate

Born in Laos to an ethnic Vietnamese family, and coming to Australia as a refugee in 1980 via Thailand, Vân is both linguistically and culturally fluent working in Vietnamese, Lao, Thai and English. She moves seamlessly between cultures in her work as a cultural / language interpreter, community development worker, educator and trainer in the health and community services sector in Australia, Vietnam, Laos and Thailand.

Kathy Bannister – Associate

Kathy is an adult educator and consultant with experience at all levels of education in cross cultural settings. Her area of expertise is working across cultures to build the capacity of counterparts including teachers, health workers, natural resource managers and community development staff in Australia and Laos.

Sue Gleed – Research and Design Associate

Sue has been a senior lecturer in social work and community development and a senior manager in policy in State Government Departments and University international programs. Her doctorate focussed on the effectiveness of Australian Aid and she currently manages child safety programs for the Queensland Government.

John Twyman– IT Consultant

John is an IT professional with training and education experience in Tertiary and Government settings focused on capacity building, mentoring and skills sharing. John collaborates with people to develop E-Learning and Distance Education tools to enhance learning and development opportunities for his local and international counterparts in the Pacific and China.
